These paintings are acrylic painted on carved plywood or 1/4" poplar. I am experimenting with the flattening aspect of strong, flat acrylic paint on sculpted forms. From the front the carving is very subtle, but as your viewpoint changes the form becomes more prevalent and the painting has more motion.
