April & May 2010
This is an ongoing series of work. The most recent piece is listed first going back in time. I am experimenting with different color combinations to see how the contrasting hues and intensities alter the depth of each individual piece. The first pieces in the series also had two grays. As the series progressed I added a cream instead of the light grey. Now with work that has yet to be uploaded on the site the gray has been replaced by cream and brown. The work all seeks to create the same dialogue between two dimensional painting and three dimensional forms.

These pieces are painted on archival mat board. Click here to view examples of framed pieces.

More information about this series can be found using this link.

This work developed out of Carved and Painted Wood. Now that I am developing specific color palettes and shapes within this series I will go back and carve more panels and use these painting techniques to further explore the flattening nature of two dimensional painting on top of three dimensional forms.
