Native to Philadelphia, Ben Weaver has experimented with structure and reductive forms for over 20 years in both his paintings and sculpture. High contrast and geometric forms are consistent features in his work. Strong lines produce tension that delineates space. His most recent completed series uses diptychs to explore three dimensional forms. This series uses acrylic paint on primed wood panels. Currently Ben is working with acrylic on canvas, developing similar structures with an emphasis on color depth, and without the use of the strong line that he used in his diptych series. Ben has a BA in literature and has worked in and around the fine arts his whole professional career. He has had his works represented in galleries, juried shows, private and corporate collections throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. He currently lives in Abington, PA.
