Even though this is not a small work on paper I consider this painting a study~mostly due to new color combinations, but I am figure out the size of the elements vs. line width. I plan on painting some larger paintings and the line seems thinner if it is in a larger form, but it also depends on color contrast and intensity. There was no masking used. I have been painting to the line - it helps me adjust the color more directly and precisely. Often I refine the color with semitransparent layers in the line and form.
